Whew! It's been a while since I've been able to post on here! Back with a vengeance! Ok, enough exclamation points. I was dancing around my apartment doing some cleaning earlier and I was thinking about how I like to dance at the bar. Quite a lot. Probably more than most white straight men. Sometimes when I'm getting down with my bad self, I think, "Andy, you're not bringing it tonight." Something just feels off. It doesn't matter what you're doing competitively, if something feels off, you need to change it; quickly. So when I'm problem solving why I'm not dancing as good as I usually do, there's only one clear-cut answer: I'm not drunk/drunk enough. I may not be a good dancer, but when I'm drunk, you bet I'm the best there is. Dancing, cornhole, love-making (j/k, not really, but really, j/k).
When I'm not tearing it up on the DF (dance floor), I'm trying to order a drink. Ordering a drink for a guy is a pain in the ass. You're standing up there waiting to get the attention of the bartender who hates you automatically for being a guy in a bar, but you also have to deal with girls who expect you to buy them drinks. It's tough when you're both waiting for the bartender to notice you. You start small-talking, she's nice, you tell a joke, she smiles, you pay for her drink. NO! You do not pay for her drink! She's probably got more money than you do in her bank account for one. Secondly, her boyfriend is probably the person she's getting the drink for. Nevermind; it's a girly drink. Nevermind again; he likes girly drinks. It is for him. J/k, she's there with her friends. (No more j/ks. I promise). But she probably got in free for girl's night, and guys have probably been buying her drinks all night. I remember twice in my life when strangers have bought drinks for me at a bar. One time a guy bought me a beer at a bar. He was a marine. Another time a guy paid my tab for me. He was in the Army. Two more reasons for me to love people that serve this country! Happy Memorial Day to all the people serving or have served for this great country! And thank you to everyone that's read this!
